Hello! I'm still trying to find a stamping groove now that the kids are in school. So far it's just not happening! But I remain hopeful. Today I was determined to spend a little time in the stamp room, because my greatest creative muse - bikes - inspired me over the past week! Yesterday was the final stage of the USA Pro Challenge - essentially a tour of the beautiful state of Colorado! Oh how I love this race!! The scenery - oh my - I don't think I have to tell you how gorgeous Colorado is!! This is what I came up with to honor bikes & Colorado...
I printed out a map of Colorado from the internet, and used the little geotag stamp from the Hero Arts/Studio Calico set Come Fly With Me set to mark the towns that were visited along the week-long bike race. The bicycle is actually a cute paperclip that I picked up from Paper Source back in Austin! I also used some of my favorite road washi tape, and some words from various Hero Arts sets.
I wanted to make a card featuring a map because it's the current theme over at the Catered Crop Recipe Swap! How fun is that?? Check out the bicycle card Linda made for the challenge, I loooove it! (Of course! When do I not love her cards? Um, NEVER!) This is such a fun challenge - head to her blog and play along!
And now some bike nerd tweeting I have to share. This past Thursday was my birthday. One of my favorite cyclists, American Tejay van Garderen, was on the verge of taking over the lead at the USA Pro Challenge, so I sent a silly little tweet to his team - BMC. They actually retweeted me!
So then the stage of the race happened on Thursday, and guess what!
Yup, that's right! Tejay took over the race lead! So of course I had to tweet that too. And got another BMC retweet!!
Yay!! Birthday officially made. :-)
And by the way, Tejay ended up winning the race overall yesterday. WOOHOOOOO TEJAY!!
Bye,
