Congratulations Kate + John!

Hello! Today the i {heart} papers design team & guests are doing a little hop to wish our fearless leader and owner of IHP, Kate, a huge congratulations on her recent wedding to her guy John!! Yay!! We're all so very happy for you, Kate! I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.

You should have made your way here by way of Gretchen's blog. If not, head back to Amy's blog and start at the very beginning!

I made a card for Kate featuring Into the Woods from Lawn Fawn. I just love this sweet little deer! I wanted to have two deer in love, and I realized one way to make that work easily would be to stick a stamped image on my lightbox and do the no-line coloring technique!

I did a video tutorial for Hero Arts a while back, here it is if you're curious how to do it! For my deer card today I used my Copics, and in the video I used water-based markers. Both alcohol & water-based work great! I think the alcohol markers are a little easier, though, since they are so wonderfully blendy.

Now head on over to my sweet friend Linda's blog and see what she's sharing for Kate and John! And here's the entire blog list in case you get lost along the way.

  2. OK, I totally love this technique. I may just have to dig out my poor neglected light box (it's been on the top shelf of the closet for about 5 years) to try this. This card is so adorable. And thank you for helping coordinate this surprise. Sneaky! :)

  11. this looks like a cartoon drawing, it is SO good. I love that I can't see the stamped lines and the mirror effect on the deer gives it a folksy vibe that I love! Great GREAT card
