The main kit is full of fun things for creating snowglobes - a snowglobe die, some fun border dies, adorable stamps, inks, a seed bead/sequin mix, and even Flower Soft for creating a snowy scene! So much fun stuff!! For my first card, I went with a soft, snowy scene, using things found in the main kit.
I used my Daniel Smith watercolors to paint directly on the stamps before stamping with my MISTI. I love the soft look this gives. And by the way - DID YOU SEE THAT LITTLE BUNNY?? I love the sweet animals in the kit's stamp set, but especially that bunny. I'm glad the bunny ended up looking like a bunny, I was worried I'd get more of a blob! You never can be sure when using paint on your stamps. :) I added some Flower Soft on this one, for a fluffy, snowy scene.
For the card design, I thought it would be fun to create the snowglobe, and then extend the background on the rest of the card. I liked this design, so I made a second card with the same general idea.
For this second snowglobe, I wanted to play with the add-on die set Skylines. I love this city scene! I added details by doodling with a Sharpie pen after I had watercolored. It's really kind of messy, but I love this look and I think it came together really well!
I decorated both cards with the cool sequins included in the main kit - it's a fabby mix from Button Galore.
Here's a look at the main kit:
There are several other awesome optional add-ons, too - I hope to play some more this week and share cards made with the add-on stamp sets Holiday Cheer and Winter Time Fun, because I love them both so very much!!
