February My Monthly Hero - Release + Giveaway!

Welcome to another My Monthly Hero release! You should have found me by way of Jessica's fabulous blog - if you didn't, head on back to the Hero Arts blog to start at the very beginning! There will be more info about today's blog hop and the prize up for grabs later in this post. But first, I want to show you the fun little project I made!!

To be honest, I was hit with a major creative block when I went to start making my project. My January was filled with travel - both fun and sad - and it kicked my butt. So I did a little searching around Pinterest for inspiration and found a bunch of ADORABLE cloud mobiles. I thought some of the dies in the kit would be perfect for making my own little cloud wall hanging!

I absolutely love the Nesting Clouds Infinity Dies that are an optional add-on to the kit. Clouds in many sizes - ooooh does this make me HAPPY! I used the largest die to cut out my clouds from white felt. I love the felt from Benzie Designs - super nice quality wool felt.

I also used the little raindrop-shaped die from the Raining Fluff Frame Cuts. I love the matching stamp set for these dies so much, it's adorable!! I'll be sharing more cards made with it very soon! And the heart was cut using the Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies, which were in the Valentine's release and are completely fabulous!

All of the pieces were stitched on my machine. I am not what you'd call a great seamstress, so it's all wonky and crooked - but that makes it homemade and sweet, am I right? :D I added a little stuffing to the cloud, and then strung it all together using the silver embroidery floss that's included in this month's kit.

Here's a look at the full kit! There's so much in here to love!

And all of the add-ons are fantastic, too! The little animals in Fun in the Rain??? ADORABLE!!

As I mentioned, I'm part of a great blog hop today. Please visit all of the links below, and leave comments as you go! Hero Arts is giving away a kit to one lucky commenter, drawn from the comments left on all of the blogs. You have until Sunday Feb 12 at 11:59pm to get your comments in.
