Hero Arts November 2023 Release!

Happy Release Day! Today the latest My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons release from Hero Arts. The theme is so cute - owls and mail art! I combined both the main kit and an add-on for my card and envelope today.

The card features a mailbox stamp from the My Monthly Hero kit. I used a technique shared by Jennifer McGuire during the Hero Holiday Stamp-Along this past weekend to do a mirror image stamping of the mailbox, so I could have it facing the opposite direction. So clever! I covered mine with a layer of vellum after coloring, just to hide the imperfect edges of the mirror stamping a little.

The owl is the Peeking Owl Fancy Die. I just love all of the peeking dies Hero has done so far! This one comes with a separate little envelope that he can hold in his beak, or be used to decorate your card, as I did here.

The message is from the Hero Transfers that also came in the kit.

For the envelope, I stamped more images from the kit and colored them with my markers. So fun! I'm sending this card to my friend Robin, who designed the owls and mailbox in the kit. This is probably my last time working with a kit for release day, and Robin & I have been through thick and thin with these kits over the past eight years, so it seemed fitting.

August 2023 My Monthly Hero Release + Blog Hop!

Today is release day at Hero Arts. The August release is inspired by National Parks - but to me, it looks like the North Georgia mountains! That was my inspiration for my watercolored card today.

For my card, I got our my Liquid Watercolors and had some fun adding color to the die cuts from the August My Monthly Hero kit.

You can see a bit of blue peeking behind the trees. I am picturing a lake between the trees in the foreground, and the tree-covered mountain in the background.

The message is also from the kit, and it's very fitting for whenever I had to North Georgia - "Let nature be your medicine" - indeed! I embossed it in gold, hand cut a little fishtail in the banner and then added some black pen around the edge of the card.

January My Monthly Hero Release & Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome! Today I am hopping with Hero Arts for the launch of the January My Monthly Hero kit. It's a fun one! The theme is matchbox Valentines. The main kit includes a die that creates a flat, faux matchbox that goes onto the front of a card or project. I made a few card with it as well as the great accessories.

This first card is what I created with the flat matchbox! There are stamps to decorate the top, and a bunch of fun dies for inside or to also decorate the top. I went with the matches theme.

These heart-shaped matches are too cute! I colored them with my OLO markers, and added a bit of EarthSafe Glitter. The matches could also make cute heart-shaped lollipops! The background is one of the new add-ons, Mini Hearts Bold Prints.

For this next card, I created little Hershey's Kisses out of silver glitter paper. The message strips are in the kit as well, I just attempted to make them look like the paper that comes out of the Kisses. The background was stenciled with a fun stencil, also from the kit.

This last card is just a mini Valentine. I have fun layering up the LOVE message die.
