All You Need Is Love...

Today I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try something completely different (for me!) - I made a card NANCY-STYLE!!! I just *adore* everything Nancy creates and posts on her blog Scrap This! - she is so talented, all of her designs are so fun and fresh and cheerful! Nancy's cards are definitely not my typical style (sadly, I don't even know if I have my own style!!) but I wanted to try one anyway. I decided to case this adorable card from her blog. The layout and basic elements are identical to what Nancy did - I just changed the colors & embellishments a bit. I had SO MUCH FUN making this card!!! I just LOVE how Nancy uses safety pins and stick pins - I had never tried this before. I don't think Nancy uses much stamping (if any) - she's definitely a scrappy chick - so I had to incorporate at least a little. I used my CUTE AS CAN BE new birdies from smARTworks, designed by the one and only Dina Kowal!! When I saw there were two little birdies facing opposite directions, I just had to make them love birds! (this is some of my rubber I mentioned the other day, that fell victim to The Menace - thanks for your concern, but I recovered it all and no damage was done, other than to my heart when it nearly went into cardiac arrest when I saw what had happened...!!) I just *love* my new smARTworks rubber - and a few other things about this awesome company - but I will be making more cards with my new stamps this week and will devote a future post entirely to gushing about them...! (so stay tuned!) :-) The other thing I loved about making this card is that it forced me to break out MANY supplies I've bought because I *loved* but then proceeded to HOARD - my BasicGrey chipboard, my Adirondack paint dabbers (LOVE THESE!), liquid pearls, a*muse bling, Heidi Grace decorative pins, Martha twine, SU pretties kit (I colored a flower from it with Bashful Blue marker, LOVE that you can do that!!), my massive Costco pad of My Mind's Eye paper that I'll still have to pass along to my grandkids if I don't start using more of it...! I have also now moved my little container of safety pins which used to be in my bathroom, to my stamp room. :-) I may have to make more Nancy-style cards in the future, they are FUN! Actually, she posted something so cool yesterday - an online workshop! She gave the step-by-step to create one of her adorable cards! I'll have to try that one this week I think. Ok, enough gushing about Nancy, I better post this before the kid wakes up... thanks for stopping by! :-)

And as for the game, I didn't realize that M. Staters didn't like OSU! I figured that they'd love everyone Michigan played!!! I know I'm always rooting for you guys when you two play! LOL
Gee, I hope your sister doesn't stop reading! Hate to lose readers, but if I did, at least they're Michigan fans!!! :) LOL
Tell her tomorrow I'll post a card with probably no mention of the Buckeyes. ;)
