Red and green and brown and blue, they're the Really Useful crew...

Does anyone else know that song? My days are filled with trains these days - watching Thomas videos (and getting their annoyingly catchy little songs forever stuck in my head!), playing with the engines, reading off the names of all the engines again and again from the pieces of paper that come with the engines, showing all the various Thomas toys they make & sell. My child is completely obsessed. So although this stamp isn't really a Thomas stamp, I still had to have it. It's a train with a face, close enough. :-) It's yet another cute Hambo stamp! I paired him with Beate's lastest sketch challenge (WSC47) and Kristina's latest color challenge (Color Inspiration #8). I'm not honestly sure I can make a card anymore without inspiration from challenges!! But I'm not entirely happy with how I colored this cute little train, so I may have to play with them again later this week (hopefully!). The thing I do like about this card, though, is my "polka dots" I created with brads. I wanted to use some DP on this card but I couldn't come up with any to fit the color challenge, so I "made" some. Yes I blew through a lot of brads on this, but I'm really trying to be less of a hoarder so this was a good exercise in Just Use Them Already!!! And I also like the liquid applique for the "steam". Thanks for stopping by - be sure to come back on Thursday if not before, I plan to attempt to introduce a new weekly feature then... :-) (and I'll post something in between now and then if the munchkins allow me some more stamping time this week!!)

Yeah, that Thomas theme DOES stick in your head! I love what you did with the brads to make the polka dots. This Hambo train is too cute - it's in my collection to:)

  3. Wow, it's nice to hear that another mother has a child as obsessed with trains (especially Thomas and Friends) as mine is. Does your son sing that song while sitting on the toilet? Mine does...at home, at school, in public restrooms!

Cute card, love the brad dots!

  4. This is so cute, Libby!! I love all the brads you've used, and I think it fits the theme well!! (My oldest went through a 'Thomas Phase', but none of the others did. Of course Brooke is more of a princess kind of girl).

  5. Thomas, he's the cheeky one! James is vain but lots of fun...

Oh, Libby, I feel your pain and then some!!! We need to get our Carters together -- they can play Thomas while we stamp! Cute, cute card, BTW.

Bet you can't wait for CHF's Thomas line to come out, either!
