I started with a background I had created using Blue Raspberry Reactive Ink, by rubbing it onto a craft mat, spritzing the ink with water, than smooshing the watercolor paper into the spritzed ink. I would dry with a heat tool, then smoosh again, to create layers of color. Once that ink was dry, I stamped the background with the new Novel Prose Bold Prints. Love love love this text background!! I stamped it with Root Beer Reactive Ink, and lightly spritzed the inked-up stamp so the text is blurred.
Next, I die cut the Stacked Books Fancy Die from watercolor paper, and painted it with Root Beer and Licorice Reactive Inks and allowed that to dry.
I finished the card with a wonderful Jane Austen quote from the Literary Quotes stamp set. A lot of truth in that quote right there.

ReplyDeleteJust stunning! I love it! I'm so sick I missed out on the stacked book die. Oh well. Your work is giving me the inspiration to try out a background like this. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis is so creative, and I love how you painted that stack of books.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you painted your stack of books. It is very different from the other designers and I quite like the way you interpreted it. Thank you for the inspiration Libby ❤️
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish I could get those add-ons! I love your card, and of course a Jane Austin quote is always a winner with me- time to re-read Sense and Sensibility!
ReplyDeleteThe background looks gorgeous. I like how splotchy it is. NICE
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card! I love how you have taken the books used splotches of color - some more concentrated and some less - to make them look aged in a good way. You did something similar w/ the background. It looks so vintage and hipster cool. I love it and I think the quote is marvelous.
ReplyDeleteTFS your talent w/ us lucky viewers and hoppers.
