March 2021 My Monthly Hero Release - Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hello! Today I'm joining Hero Arts for the release of the March My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons. This month's theme is BOOKS and I could not love it more! The main kit is amazing - I'm using the artwork from that to paint a Little Free Library, which I'll share here once I'm done (check out my post on Instagram if you're curious, I'm @stampinlibby over there!). But today I'm sharing a card made with a few of the fabulous add-ons from this release!

I started with a background I had created using Blue Raspberry Reactive Ink, by rubbing it onto a craft mat, spritzing the ink with water, than smooshing the watercolor paper into the spritzed ink. I would dry with a heat tool, then smoosh again, to create layers of color. Once that ink was dry, I stamped the background with the new Novel Prose Bold Prints. Love love love this text background!! I stamped it with Root Beer Reactive Ink, and lightly spritzed the inked-up stamp so the text is blurred.

Next, I die cut the Stacked Books Fancy Die from watercolor paper, and painted it with Root Beer and Licorice Reactive Inks and allowed that to dry.

I finished the card with a wonderful Jane Austen quote from the Literary Quotes stamp set. A lot of truth in that quote right there.

Ok! Now it's time to hop! Hero Arts will give away one $50 gift card, drawn from the comments left across the hop. Enter by Sunday, March 14th at 11:59pm pacific, and the winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog the following week. Comment on all the blogs in the hop for more chances to win!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Here's a look at the entire release. I don't use affliate links on my posts, so if you want to shop, please be sure to use the links on another blog in the hop to support a fellow artist.

  5. I love this card! The splattered ink looks perfect with the prose background. I can picture the author spilling ink on his manuscript and smudging it while try to wipe up the mess.

  22. What a beautiful card! I love how you have taken the books used splotches of color - some more concentrated and some less - to make them look aged in a good way. You did something similar w/ the background. It looks so vintage and hipster cool. I love it and I think the quote is marvelous.
TFS your talent w/ us lucky viewers and hoppers.

  34. Libby- this is a work of art! Beautifully done smooshed background (I try and try but never achieve such gorgeous results) with that added literary nod in the overstamped prose. Just gorgeous. And may I also express appreciation for the typeface font for product names and hop line-up--- so clever and apropos!
