From Courtney's Closet #20 - an inspiration challenge

Well here it is - the 20th time I've taken a photo of my baby girl, and made a card inspired by her outfit. Wow, can you believe I've done this TWENTY times now!?!? If you're new here, you can see all of the past weeks here. I'm so glad I had this little brainstorm 20-some odd weeks ago, because it's been so much fun! And I really think my best creativity occurs when I'm doing these cards, I'm not sure why. Well, I guess because baby girl clothes are just so stinkin' cute!! (and my baby girl isn't too shabby in the cuteness department herself, *wink*) I know we've done cupcakes before, but I had to go there again. I love cupcakes, and since I called her my little Cupcake before she was born, I ended up with several cupcake-themed outfits! This one is just a little onesie, but I think it's so cute - the colors are a little different for a girl with the purple and blue combo. For my card I pulled out my Hero Arts Cupcake set, since it happens to have a stamp with a heart on top of the cupcake! I paper-pieced the bottom with some AMuse polka dot paper, popped up the heart for dimension and coated it with diamond glaze for shine, and then put a bunch of liquid applique frosting, coated with a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter sprinkles. Yummy! That cute sentiment, the same I used on my thank you cards in the last post, is from Flourishes - I just love the font they used on that one, so I use it a lot! Once again I had a really hard time getting a good photo of Courtney! She is just way too mobile now, she won't sit still for half a second to take a photo! As it was I had to buckle her into her highchair, and this was the best I could do! I may have to add a little summary at the bottom of this post in a bit of all the failed attempts to get a photo, you may find it amusing. :-) But the real question is - do you find it *inspiring*?? If so, make a card!! I'd so love to see what you come up with. Leave a comment back here and link it up. And if you post on Splitcoast please use keyword FCCC. Last week was not a very popular week - I guess you either don't like Halloween, or are just tired of Halloween cards! I'm going to assume it wasn't something else... ;-) But those who DID play sure made some adorable cards!!! First up is Karen - I just LOVE how she pieced together her pumpkin using ovals, and not just ovals but Swiss-Dot-Cuttlebugged ovals!! You all know how much I love those Swiss Dots...!!Maria apparently doesn't care for making Halloween cards, but you'd never guess it - how adorable is this!?!?Anita was multitasking to post this super cute card while also making homemade applesauce and apple pie - sure wish I could come by her house right now, yummy!!ETA: Kathryn got to play a week late, but I need to add in her card for "posterity"! LOL It's so cute!!!And OH MY GOSH YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS - Sue made THE CUTEST CARD EVER!!! She really ran with the pumpkin patch them, and created a whole little scene with Linus and Sally. I adore her card - my favorite of the week. Hop on over to her blog and see the other photos of it, it's so adorable! Sue I already have your address - some goodies will soon be on the way! Thanks girls for playing last week, and thanks everyone else for stopping by today!
  • Stamps: Cupcake from Hero Arts, Sweet Treats from Flourishes
  • Paper: Lavender Lace, Bashful Blue, Neenah Solar White, AMuse DP

And now my little photo summary of how it goes pretty much every week when I try to photograph Courtney in her outfit. Turns out it's difficult to get both a photo where she's looking at the camera and smiling, *and* one where you can see the details of her outfit... For example, here's a cute one, but my knee is in the way:This one would be perfect but... oops... blurry! And she moved and now she's out of the frame...Let's try holding her and doing a self portrait together... smiling and cute... but alas, you can't see the outfit...Ok let's move to the highchair... "but mommy, I want to eat the straps!!"Oh wait, what's down there, that looks interesting...And in comes brother with a stuffed animal to "help"...*sigh*
:-)

  13. Oh, yes, that was funny! I especially laughed at the end when Carter came in with the stuffed animal. All cute pictures, though! You did finally get an adorable one that shows both Courtney and her outfit--love it! Your card is so dang CUTE! I know what you mean about being inspired by Courtney's outfits to make especially cute cards. It has worked that way for me, too. I've had such fun with this challenge and every card I've made for it has been so happy! You might have had fewer players this time but they all came through with flying colors. I love how the leaves and vines are twining through the fence on Sue's card. Great creativity! I LOVE it!!
