August My Monthly Hero - blog hop + giveaway

It's time for the launch of another Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit! This month's kit was inspired by "A Midsummer Night's Dream" - oh my goodness - I am in love!! Ok, I admit it, I have loved every single kit so far. But the kit for August is just plain magical. And sweet. And dreamy. LOVE!!

(Update: I made another card using elements from the kit, find it HERE!)

I've made several cards with the kit and add-on stamps. I just couldn't stop!! It's too much fun. First, I put a fairy in a jar. Poor fairy! But doesn't she look lovely in there?

The jar is from Let's Get Fresh. You could also use the jars in Mason Jar Bugs or Winter Scene, depending on the look you want. I added shimmer with the Star Dust Stickles included in the kit.

Next, I played with the clouds from the add-on kit, Dreams Are Made. In the end I think they ended up looking like a dreamy mountain range up in the clouds.

I used some shimmer paint but it was hard to capture in a photo. Trust me, it's even lovelier in person. I love the Shakespeare quote to go with this little scene! And the Pretty Pink Posh droplets are from the kit, too!

I was on a roll, stamping and coloring fairies, so I made a few little "lunchbox notes" that I will be sneaking into my daughter's lunchbox this fall. I love to surprise her like this!

I paired the kit with some messages from the Dare to Dream stamp set. And of course I needed to add a little shimmer to the fairy wings.

My favorite card I've created so far with this kit was on the Hero Arts blog on Friday. The frame die included in the kit is so pretty! And this is my favorite of the fairies, with her sweet acorn cap!

Be sure to check out all of the amazing designers hopping with us today! The will be a kit for one lucky commenter, drawn from the comments left across all of the blogs through Sunday, August 7. The winner will be announced on the Hero Arts blog.

  106. I have to say that every card on this hop was different from the other one. On some hops the cards are kind of similar but on this hop each one was different. I was so amazed! You did the most card out of everybody so you win! What do you win? A big hug from me and a handmade card! LOL Having the fairy in the jar is like catching lightening bugs in a jar when we were kids. Now I rarely see lightening bugs anymore. I hear they are going extinct. I hope that doesn't happen to your fairy! You made some beautiful cards and did some amazing techniques. Thanks for letting us see them all and for giving us a chance to win this kit that I can't afford unless the Kardashians adopt me! LOL I love blog hopping!
