(ETA: I finally got my sample finished, check it out here! And I'm updating this to include a photo of the blog candy goodies. Hope you'll play this week!! To be included in the drawing, please post before 9pm CST Wed Feb 11. If you don't have a blog, you can post to Splitcoast using keyword FCCC, or email me your photo!) I cannot believe it's already been a whole year since my sweet baby girl was born!! Boy time sure flies when you're blogging and having fun! :-) And little did I know on that happy day one year ago what a little source of card inspiration Courtney would prove to be! It wasn't until she was about three months old (and I had finally emerged from the newborn fog!) that I had my little brainstorm to start making cards inspired by her outfits! I thought it was only fitting that on her first birthday, I celebrate by having a big cyber birthday celebration here on my blog!! Unfortunately this isn't going completely as I had hoped - true to form, I procrastinated until the last minute to make my card - little did I know that I'd end up with a very upset boy with a 103 fever tonight, who only wanted to be held by Mommy! He's finally asleep on the couch now, so I snuck away to write this up! I gave up on making and posting a card of my own tonight, because during a brief moment when I thought I could leave Carter with Daddy and go into the stamp room, I dropped my camera on the tile floor and broke it!!! I actually cried about a broken camera. I am so upset, I can't believe I did that! So... I may be unable to share cards for quite a while until I figure out the camera situation! But as luck would have it, all is not lost - I happened to ask some of my favorite stamping ladies to join me in this celebration!! I sent them a photo of Courtney in this outfit, and they set to work on what I have no doubt are FABULOUS creations! I can't wait to see them myself in the morning! So go and check them out with me:
Carole Burrage at Mother's Little Helper
Leslie Miller at Running With Scissors
Maria Gurnsey at Scraps by M
Melissa Sauls at In Stamping Mode
Nancy Riley at iSTAMP
Rose Ann Reynolds at Paper Delightz
Sue Kment at Sue's Stamping Stuff
And what's a birthday celebration without presents?? Play along with the challenge this week, and post back here letting me know you did, and your name will go into the hat for some sweet and delicious blog candy!! I'm kicking myself for not taking a photo of it earlier, but let me assure you it is GOOD! Hopefully I'll be able to update this post with the info tomorrow, but I can tell you it includes Life is Sweet from Our Craft Lounge, some MFT cupcakes, Mimi's Bake Shoppe from Denami Designs, some 6x6 shares from the Basic Grey Cupcake line, and a bunch of yummy embellies that are perfect for any cupcake lover! (includes Doodlebug Designs sugar coating glitter, Fun Flock, MM Love Notes stick pins, bling, cupcake brads, misc ribbon and a Studio G cupcake set) You can enter as many times as you'd like, but you have to make a card to get into the drawing. If you've thought about playing in the past but never found the time, this week is the week to do it! And of course I hope to have my beloved regulars join me in celebrating Courtney's birthday!! By the way, if you're new here, you can check out all of the past weeks here, and fyi there's a reason for this cupcake theme - I called Courtney "my little cupcake" while I was pregnant, and it stuck. :-) Alright I better get some sleep so I can be a rested Mommy to actually celebrate with Courtney tomorrow (or perhaps take her brother to the pediatrician, we'll see!). Thanks for stopping by today and I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Merry Christmas

ReplyDeleteAww man...I am so sorry about your camera...but who needs to see a card when you have this darling to share with us!! Such a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Courtney!! Everyone's cupcakes cards are adorable, just like their inspiration.
ReplyDeleteHope Carter is feeling better today! And broken camera is just a really good excuse to go shopping! :)
OH!! I'm so sorry to hear about your night! Sick kids are the pits and a broken camera :(
ReplyDeleteFirst of all...Happy Birthday to Courtney!! What an adorable little cutie!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about Carters' sickness, and I hope he's feeling better. I'm also very sorry about your camera. {{{{{{Libby}}}}}}
Oh my goodness Libby, what a day you've had! I hope Carter gets to feeling better quickly and I'm sooo sorry about your camera! I'm crossing my fingers for a healthier day with no tears (by mom AND children!!) with plenty of cupcake treats. :) Thanks so much for inviting me to play with your challenge. It truly is an honor.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Courtney!
ReplyDeleteHope your son is feeling better.
Here is my card
Happy Birthday to Courtney - and hope Carter feels better soon, I am fighting flu and understand how he feels. Can't wait to hang out with you all in the summer.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Courtney, and I hope Carter is better SOON. You poor thing, it sounds like you had quite a day, hope things are better!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Courtney, she is adorable. I see that she likes Abby Cadabby, we do at our house too! In fact, we were invited to a one-year-old's b-day party and it was Elmo themed. Since the party was for a girl, I wanted to change the Elmo b-day card I saw on SCS up some to be more girlie, here is what I did.

Oh, no, Libby! I hope Carter is feeling better today. A fever like that makes any illness worse, so I hope you can manage to keep it down. And you broke your camera?!!! I'd cry about that, too! In fact, I'll cry for you! I'm glad you at least got the pic of Courtney. Too bad you weren't able to picture the blog candy. I sure hope everything turns out okay!
ReplyDeleteMaybe Courtney will get a new camera so her mommy can take some more pics of her!! :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY Courtney!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea--Courtney's closet--and you've got all those pictures to treasure. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! I can't stand sleepless nights and I can never sleep with a child laying on me, I'm always afraid I'll drop them. And your poor camera! I'm so sorry to hear about that too.
ReplyDeleteI will be back later with a card. Just wanted to say that I hope things are better!
I'm so sorry to hear of your sick son (and your sick camera!) On a happy note, Happy Birthday to your gorgeous little girl! I made a hot pink and white card with a pop-up cupcake on the inside, however, I am not able to post pictures. (I would love to begin a blog but I don't have a clue how to do it!)
